The VFW was originally chartered by The U.S. Congress in 1899 and re chartered in 1918 at the end of WW I. The organization consists of over 2.1 million members who have served in a combat theater during their military service. VFW Post 6110 is located in the bucolic Mint Canyon area of The Santa Clarita Valley approximately 35 miles NW of Los Angeles. Gold was originally discovered here in Placerita Canyon some 4 years before Sutters Mill which started the Gold Rush.

Do you know what federal benefits you should be receiving? The federal government has a new interactive site, www.govbenefits.gov that can quickly tell you.
This is really the height of simplicity. You fill out a form that explores your background, and the site lists programs that could affect you. It includes links to those programs.

Our Post Mascot is Lassie who also lives here in Canyon Country.
